About DIN Arena

Who we are

DIN Arena is a Stavanger based volunteer organisation that strives to be a leading platform for Eritreans living in Norway. It is a strictly non-religious and non-political organisation. We aim to to cultivate a culture of tolerance and dialogue among Eritreans, to support and promote personal and professional growth, and to facilitate integration to the Norwegian society.

Our History

The arena traces back its origin to a former Eritrean students network at the University of Stavanger. Since November 2017 , it has evolved to fit the social and networking need of its current and former members and other interested, that extends beyond the student life. As a result the platform has been active under the name of “Socialising and Discussion Arena” for 2 years. It 2020 due to the growing need of its members , the facilitating commitee reorganised itself and registered as a non profit organisation with the name DIN ARENA.

Our philosophy

We belive living is a life long learning process and discussion and dialog platforms are the playground to entertain and integrate the knowledge we accumulate through out our lives.

“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think.”

                                                                                             -Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein argued that the value of a school or college education is to train the mind to think something that cannot be learned from textbooks, it is to create the capacity of integrated understanding and an ability to use the knowledge intelligently. This is the ethos that informs and inspires the platform and community that we aspire to be.

Vision and Mission

Our vision is be be a platform for Eritreans living in Norway where they can discuss and share experiences. Our mission is to cultivate a culture of tolerance and dialogue among Eritreans, to support and promote personal and professional growth, and to facilitate integration to the Norwegian society.
